* We have received reports that the containership GLORY LIGHT suffered a main engine failure on 19th May 2026 in the vicinity of Bassein Port, Myanmar.

* Attempts to repair the vessel failed and the vessel was towed to Port Kelang as a port of refuge.

* The vessel was loaded with 385 containers at the time of the incident.

* Shipowners have declared general average and appointed Average Adjusters to collect general average security.

* We have already been instructed by a number of our clients and we are liaising with experts to investigate the cause of the main engine failure.
